Red Hat Certified Advanced System Administrator in OpenShift Exam
The performance-based Red Hat Certified Advanced System Administrator in OpenShift exam (EX380) tests the knowledge, skills, and ability to plan, implement, and manage large-scale OpenShift Container Platform deployments in the enterprise.
Earning a passing score on this exam is a requirement to attain the Red Hat Certified Advanced System Administrator in OpenShift certification.
Exam Delivery
This is a hands-on, practical exam. Rather than answering multiple-choice questions, you are required to perform routine system tasks on a live system to meet specific objective criteria.
The tasks are based on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.22. Relevant product documentation is provided during the test, but you must complete the tasks without outside assistance.
Exam results are reported via email from Red Hat Certification Central. Red Hat does not authorize examiners or training partners to report results to candidates directly. Scores on the exam are usually reported within 3 U.S. business days.
Exam results are reported as total scores. Red Hat does not report performance on individual items, nor will it provide additional information upon request.
Multiple versions of this exam are in use. Please navigate directly to the Learning Management System (LMS) to view and complete your designated exam version at Red Hat Certification Exam Objectives by Version.

Prerequisites
- ›Candidates for this exam should have:
- ›Either taken both Red Hat OpenShift Administration II: Configuring a Production Cluster (DO280) and Red Hat OpenShift Administration III: Scaling Deployments in the Enterprise (DO380), or have comparable work experience as an advanced system administrator on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform.
- ›Reviewed the Red Hat Certified Advanced System Administrator exam (EX380) objectives
Who should attend
- ›These audiences may be interested in becoming a Red Hat Certified Advanced System Administrator in OpenShift:
- ›Cluster engineers (systems administrators, cloud administrators, or cloud engineers) focused on planning, designing, and implementing production-grade OpenShift clusters. Cluster engineers require automation skills to scale their manpower to provision and manage an increasing population of clusters, applications, and users, at the same time ensuring these clusters remain in compliance with corporate standards.
- ›Site reliability engineers (SREs) focused on keeping OpenShift clusters and applications running without disruption. SREs are interested in troubleshooting infrastructure and application issues with OpenShift clusters and require automation skills to reduce the time to identify, diagnose, and remediate issues.
- ›Performance Rule
- ›As with all Red Hat performance-based exams, configurations and services must persist and remain functional across the normal lifecycle of the platform without requiring manual intervention to restore or start them.
Recommended next course or exam
- A Red Hat Certified Advanced System Administrator or Red Hat Certified Advanced Developer has proven, on live systems, deep expertise in automating multi-system infrastructure or architecting distributed applications in hybrid cloud environments. This credential tells an employer the holder can optimize performance, ensure enterprise security, and manage data persistence by actually doing the work, not answering questions about it. Holders of this credential are ready to scale production systems and applications and take on senior technical responsibility. Together with the matching Red Hat Certified System Administrator or Red Hat Certified Developer certification, this credential earns the holder the Red Hat Certified Engineer certification.
- Scores and Reporting
